Billing and Plans
Billing in DripDrop lives in Dashboard → Settings → Billing. This page explains how to choose a plan, start checkout, manage an existing subscription, and understand the usage information shown in the app.
View Your Current Plan
The top of Dashboard → Settings → Billing shows your current subscription and billing status.
Your current plan card can include:
- Your plan name and monthly price
- Your subscription status
- The date your plan renews or a scheduled change takes effect
- A Change Plan option for viewing other available plans
- A Manage Billing option for updating payment details, viewing invoices, or managing your subscription through Stripe
Possible subscription statuses include:
- Active: Your subscription is active and renews normally.
- Trial: Your account is currently using a trial subscription.
- Past Due: A payment was unsuccessful and your billing information may require attention.
- Canceled: Your subscription has been canceled.
- Incomplete: Subscription setup or payment has not been completed.
- Paused: Billing for the subscription is currently paused.
If your account does not have a subscription, the page displays No Subscription and prompts you to choose a plan.
Choose a Plan
DripDrop displays the plans available to your account. Each plan card includes:
- The plan name, description, and monthly price
- Usage limits for contacts, messages, flows, flow executions, and custom fields
- The features included with the plan
- Whether DripDrop branding is removed from outgoing messages
The available action depends on your current subscription:
- Select Get Started or Select Plan to start a new subscription.
- Select Upgrade to move to a higher plan immediately.
- Select Downgrade to schedule a lower plan for the end of your current billing period.
- Your current subscription is identified as your Current Plan and cannot be selected again.
If you already have a subscription, go to Dashboard → Settings → Billing and select Change Plan to view the available plans.
After selecting a plan, review the plan-change details before confirming.
Review and Confirm Your Plan Change
After selecting Upgrade or Downgrade, review the plan-change dialog before continuing.
- To use a different payment method, select Manage Billing, update your payment method, then return to DripDrop and upgrade your plan.
- If your account doesn’t have a payment method, DripDrop will ask you to add one securely before completing the upgrade.
- Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. You’ll keep your current plan until the date shown and won’t be charged today. Select Schedule change to continue.
- Select Cancel to close the dialog without changing your subscription.
After an upgrade, the Billing page displays your new plan. For a scheduled downgrade, it displays the plan you selected and its effective date. To cancel a scheduled downgrade before it takes effect, select Keep current plan.
Manage Your Billing Details
Select Manage Billing from Dashboard → Settings → Billing to open the secure Stripe customer portal.
Use the portal to:
- Add, remove, or update your payment methods
- Choose the default payment method used for future charges
- Review your billing history
- View and download invoices
- Cancel your subscription
Payment details and invoices are managed securely through Stripe rather than stored or edited directly in DripDrop.
If you need to change the payment method used for a plan upgrade:
- Select Manage Billing.
- Update your default payment method in Stripe.
- Return to Dashboard → Settings → Billing in DripDrop.
- Select Change Plan and complete the upgrade.
The Manage Billing option is available after billing has been set up for the account. Only the account owner can manage the subscription.
Review Your Usage and Limits
The Usage and Limits area shows how your account’s current usage compares with the limits included in your plan.
Depending on your plan, DripDrop may track:
- Contacts
- Messages Sent
- Flows
- Flow Executions
- Custom Fields
Each resource can have one or more usage periods:
- Daily: Usage during the current day
- Monthly: Usage during the current billing or calendar month
- Total: All currently counted resources, regardless of when they were created
Each usage bar displays your current usage and plan limit. If a resource does not have a defined limit, DripDrop displays Unlimited.
Where applicable, DripDrop also displays when the usage period resets. Usage recorded during a daily or monthly period becomes available again after its reset time.
Understand Usage Warnings
Usage bars change as your account approaches a plan limit:
- Below 80%: Usage displays in its normal state.
- At 80%: The usage bar changes to a warning state.
- At 100%: The usage bar displays a limit-reached state.
These indicators help you decide whether to wait for the usage period to reset, reduce usage, or upgrade to a plan with higher limits.
Reaching a limit may prevent additional activity for that resource until:
- The usage period resets
- Existing resources are removed, where applicable
- You upgrade to a plan with a higher limit
You can configure email notifications for approaching limits under Dashboard → Settings → Notifications.
Configure Billing Alerts
Configure usage-limit notifications under Dashboard → Settings → Notifications.
To receive billing alerts:
- Enable the main Billing Alerts setting.
- Choose the usage thresholds that should trigger a notification:
- 80% for an early warning
- 90% when usage is close to the limit
- 100% when the limit has been reached
Billing alerts help you monitor usage before a plan limit interrupts account activity. You can then reduce usage, wait for the usage period to reset, or upgrade your plan.
Each account user who needs these notifications should review their own notification settings.
Troubleshooting
I don’t see a subscription
If Billing displays No Subscription, select a plan and complete checkout. Refresh the page after returning to DripDrop.
I can’t change my plan
Confirm that:
- You are the account owner.
- Your subscription is not past due, canceled, or incomplete.
- The selected plan is available to your account.
- You are not selecting your current plan.
If you have an outstanding balance, select Manage Billing, resolve it in Stripe, then return to DripDrop and try again.
Manage Billing is missing
The Manage Billing option becomes available after billing has been set up for the account. Only the account owner can manage the subscription.
My upgrade requires a payment method
Add a payment method when prompted, or select Manage Billing to update your default payment method. Then return to Dashboard → Settings → Billing, select Change Plan, and try the upgrade again.
My downgrade hasn’t happened yet
Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. You can continue using your existing plan until the effective date displayed on the Billing page.
I want to cancel a scheduled downgrade
Select Keep current plan before the scheduled effective date.
Checkout doesn’t open correctly
Return to Dashboard → Settings → Billing and select the plan again. If checkout still doesn’t open, refresh the page and retry.
My usage is close to a limit
Review the usage amount and reset time. You can reduce usage, wait for the period to reset, or upgrade to a plan with higher limits.
My billing information looks outdated
Refresh the Billing page. If the information remains outdated, open Manage Billing to confirm the subscription status in Stripe, then return to DripDrop.
Billing information doesn’t load
Refresh the page and try again. If the problem continues, contact support and include any error message displayed.
