Flow Templates
Flow Templates are ready-made flow blueprints you can preview and add as a new draft flow. Use them to start faster without building every block, message template, and custom field from scratch.
Start From a Flow Template
A flow template gives you a prebuilt structure for a common automation. Templates can include:
- Flow steps and block types
- Email, SMS, Notify, or AI-related blocks
- Included message templates
- Included custom fields
- Suggested providers and senders
- Estimated duration or flow shape
Marketplace templates are first-party published templates. Private template creation may be available to administrators or internal users, but this page focuses on marketplace templates for regular users.
01 Browse the Template Gallery
Open the Flow Templates gallery to browse available templates.
Filter by Category
Use category filters to narrow the gallery. Categories help you find templates for specific campaign types or automation goals.
Open a Template
Template cards show a preview, name, description, category, and available actions. Open a template to review it before adding it to your account.
02 Preview a Template
Previewing a template before adding it helps you understand what will be created.
Review the Flow Structure
The template detail page may show:
- Ordered steps
- Block types
- Channels used by the template
- Estimated duration
- A visual preview of the flow
Review Included Assets
Templates may include message templates and custom fields. Review these before adding the flow so you know what will be created or mapped.
03 Add a Template as a Draft Flow
When you add a template, DripDrop creates a new draft flow. You can review and finish configuration in the Flow Editor before activating it.
01 Name the New Flow
The add modal starts with the template name. You can rename the flow before creating it.
Flow names must be unique. If a flow with the same name already exists, choose a different name.
02 Choose Providers and Senders
Some templates require providers or senders.
Provider slots may include:
- Email provider
- SMS provider
- AI provider
Sender slots depend on the provider you choose:
- Email sender or from-address appears after choosing an email provider.
- SMS sender or from-number appears after choosing an SMS provider.
If no connected provider supports a required method, connect one first or leave the slot blank when the template allows it.
03 Fill Optional Notification Recipients
Notify blocks may ask for recipients. You can enter email addresses or phone numbers, separated by commas or new lines.
Invalid recipients are reported during validation or creation.
04 Choose Message Templates to Include
Included email and SMS message templates are selected by default. You can include all templates, include only some, or skip message templates when the template allows it.
Skipping a message template may leave dependent blocks unconfigured.
05 Map or create custom fields
For each included custom field, choose one of the available actions:
- Create new: Create a new custom field for this template.
- Map to existing: Reuse a compatible custom field already in your account.
- Skip: Do not create or map the field.
06 Check Usage and Flow Limits
The modal may show projected flow usage after adding the template. If adding the template would exceed your flow limit, the Add Template button is disabled and you may need to upgrade your plan or remove unused flows.
What Happens After the Flow is Created?
The New Flow Opens in the Editor
The created flow is a draft. After creation, DripDrop opens the Flow Editor so you can review it before turning it on.
Complete Missing Configuration
Some blocks may still need configuration, especially if you skipped providers, senders, recipients, message templates, or custom fields while adding the template.
The editor flags blocks that need attention. Complete missing configuration before activating the flow.
Template-created flows may start with autosave disabled so you can finish setup intentionally.
Troubleshooting
I do not see a provider
Only providers that support the required channel or method are offered. Connect providers in Settings or Integrations, then return to the template.
I cannot add the template
Check for:
- Flow limit issues
- Duplicate flow name
- Invalid provider or sender
- Invalid Notify recipients
- Archived or incompatible custom fields
- Missing required template choices
A block is marked incomplete after adding
This is expected when provider, sender, message template, custom field, or recipient data was skipped. Open the block in the Flow Editor and complete the missing fields.
