Flow Settings

Flow Settings control the flow record itself and the editor preferences that go with it. They do not replace the per-block configuration inside the Flow Editor.

  • When you create a new flow, the form focuses on the name plus editor preferences such as background design, autosave, and snap-to-grid.
  • When you edit an existing flow, the form adds status, start, expires, send pacing, timezone, tags, and any configured custom fields.

Name is required. Choose a clear internal title so the flow is easy to find in tiles, list view, and related modal pickers such as Connection block target-flow selection.

Confirmed flow statuses are: Draft, Scheduled, Active, Paused, Complete, and Archived.

  • Use Settings when you need the full status list.
  • On flow cards, the quick action only toggles between Active and Paused.

Use Start and Expires to define when a flow can begin and when it should stop processing contacts.

  • Set Start when the flow should not begin before a specific date and time.
  • Set Expires when the flow should stop running after a specific date and time.
  • Leave either field empty when the flow does not need that boundary.

Note: Start and Expires use wall-clock values in the flow’s selected timezone. If the flow does not have a timezone override, DripDrop uses the account timezone.

Tip
Set or confirm the timezone before entering Start or Expires values, especially when the flow includes time-based Pause blocks.

Use send pacing to control how quickly a flow sends messages.

  • Sends per day sets the flow’s overall daily send volume.
  • Seconds between sends adds spacing between individual sends.

Use both settings together when you want to limit daily volume and avoid sending many messages in rapid succession.

Review these settings before activating a flow, especially when it will enroll a large number of contacts.

A flow can use the account default timezone or a flow-specific timezone override.

The selected timezone controls the wall-clock time used by:

  • Start and Expires
  • Time-based Pause blocks
  • Scheduled flow behavior

Set the timezone before configuring dates, times, or scheduled pauses. If you change the timezone later, review each time-based setting to confirm it still matches the intended local time.

  • Background Design choices are Dots, Lines, Crosses, and Blank.
  • Autosave enables periodic saving while you have unsaved changes.
  • Snap Blocks to Grid affects how blocks move on the canvas.

Use Tags and Custom Fields to organize flows and keep flow-specific information available for filtering and reporting.

  • Add tags to group flows by campaign, purpose, status, or another internal category.
  • Flow custom fields appear in the settings form only when they have been configured for the Flow record type.
  • Available flow custom fields can also appear as optional columns in the Flows list.
  • Update tag definitions and custom-field configuration from Admin.

Use clear, consistent tag names and field values so flows remain easy to find and filter

  • Create creates the flow and navigates directly into the new Flow Editor.
  • Save updates an existing flow and closes the flow modal on success.
Save fails immediately

Check for a missing Name or any surfaced server-side validation messages.

Use the full settings form if the card toggle is not enough.

Time-based behavior looks wrong

Confirm whether the flow is using the account default timezone or a flow-specific override.

Background, autosave, or snap changes do not seem visible

Reopen the editor after saving and verify you are looking at the same flow.

Custom fields missing

Those fields only appear when your account has flow custom fields configured.
