Gmail
Use Gmail when you want Drip Drop to send email through a Google mailbox. Gmail can be connected with Google OAuth or with a Gmail App Password.
Note
For most users, OAuth is the preferred setup path. Use App Passwords only when that is the intended configuration for your Google account.
When to Use Gmail
- You want email messages to come from a Google-hosted mailbox.
- You want a mailbox-based sender rather than an API email service such as SendGrid or Mailgun.
- You have access to the Google account that should authorize the connection.
00 Before You Start
- Confirm that you can sign in to the Google account you want to connect.
- If using OAuth, be ready to approve Google authorization prompts.
- If using an App Password, have the Gmail username and password ready.NoteCreate or choose a safe test contact for the first email send.
01 Choose OAuth or App Password
The Gmail provider form supports two connection methods.
OAuth: Starts a Google authorization flow and stores the connected account in Drip Drop.
App password: Uses a Gmail username and app password entered into the provider form.
Connect with Google OAuth
- Open Dashboard → Admin → Integrations.
- Click New Integration and choose Gmail.
- Choose the Google OAuth connection option.
- Continue through the Google authorization flow.
- Return to Drip Drop and confirm the Gmail account is connected.
Connect with an app password

- Choose the App Password connection option.
- Enter the Gmail username.
- Enter the Gmail app password.

02 Save and Confirm the Connection
- The provider should appear in the Integrations list after it is saved.
- If the provider does not appear, refresh the Integrations page and check for validation errors.
- Click on the Provider Name to the open the Edit window. There should now be a green check mark and an active message. NoteMake sure to use a clear provider name if your organization has more than one Gmail sender.
03 Use Gmail in a Flow
- Once connected, Gmail is available in email-related flow configuration.
- Choose the Gmail provider when an email block asks for a provider.
Troubleshooting
Google authorization does not complete
- Confirm you are signing in with the intended Google account.
- Retry the connection from Admin → Integrations.
- If authorization was revoked, reconnect the Gmail provider.
App password is rejected
- Confirm the username matches the Gmail account that created the app password.
- Generate a new app password if the old one was copied incorrectly or revoked.
Gmail is not available in a flow block
- Confirm the Gmail provider exists under Admin → Integrations.
- Confirm you are configuring an email block, not an SMS or AI block.
- Refresh the Flow Editor if the provider was created in another tab.
Email sends fail
- Check History for the send error.
- Confirm the connected Google account is still active and authorized.
- Test with a contact you control before sending to real contacts.
