Claude
Use Claude when you want Drip Drop to power AI-assisted writing and analysis with Anthropic models. Claude is used for text generation features, not for sending messages directly to contacts.
When to Use Claude
- You want AI-assisted template generation or template improvement in Drip Drop.
- You want structured text analysis features backed by Anthropic models.
00 Before You Start
- Create or copy an Anthropic API key from the Anthropic console.
- Confirm your role can create integrations. Without that permission, New Integration is not shown.
- Confirm Use AI on this account is on. Only members with settings edit permission can change it.
01 Choose Claude
- Go to Integrations → AI.
- Select New Integration, then choose Claude.
02 Connect Claude
- Review the Name, which defaults to “Claude,” and enter your Anthropic API Key.
- Select Verify API Key. Drip Drop saves the integration, asks Anthropic to validate the key, and loads the available models.
- After validation succeeds, optionally choose a Default Model, then select Save & Continue.
Default Model appears after Verify API Key succeeds and lists models available to the connected Anthropic account.
03 Verify the Connection
- On the Verify step, review the saved-credentials status. To run another live Anthropic validation, select Check credentials.
- Before the second check, Credentials stored confirms only that credentials are saved. After Check credentials succeeds, it reports “These credentials work.” Then select Done.
04 Choose a Model for an AI Action
Default Model lists the models available to the connected Anthropic account.
- The form recommends Sonnet models for a balance of quality and speed.
- If a selected model is no longer available, choose another model in the AI action and retry.
- In a flow AI block, leave Model (optional) blank to use the first available Sonnet model, or the first available model if no Sonnet model is returned.
05 Use Claude in Drip Drop
- In a message template, select AI Assistant.
- Use the AI picker in the composer to choose the Claude integration when it appears. If it does not appear, the account’s default AI source applies.
- Ask for a fresh draft or an improvement, then select Preview, Apply, or Dismiss on the proposed change.
- In the Flow Editor, use the Claude integration for Write & Send Response or Analyze Response. Write & Send Response also requires a separate Sending Integration.
- If the selected Claude integration becomes unavailable, AI stops instead of switching to another AI source automatically. Reconnect it or choose another AI source.
Troubleshooting
API key and authentication problems
- If the provider does not validate, confirm the Anthropic API key is correct and still active.
- If the key looks right but access still fails, check whether the Anthropic account or workspace has billing or access restrictions.
Model availability problems
- If no models appear, confirm the provider validated successfully and the Anthropic account has access to model listing.
- If the expected model is missing, it may not be enabled for that Anthropic account or it may have been renamed or retired.
- If a saved model later stops working, choose a different available model and retry the action.
Rate limits and provider errors
- If AI actions fail intermittently, Anthropic rate limits or temporary service issues may be the cause.
- If Claude returns a permission error, confirm the Anthropic account and API key can access the selected model.
- If Claude returns a bad-request error, review the error detail and correct the affected AI action’s prompt or settings.
